14 Poems

14 days of poems by Sikkim Mahinda Thero

Day 5

on 08 February, 2010

Translation -

"There is no fate to rise up again
There is no point in living with fear
Victory or defeat no matter what it is
Must come forward for peaceful lives"

This is a nice poem which highly motivate the people. In the 4th day poem I wrote that how much the country was damaged and how hard it is to fight against the British. That might be the fact why S. Mahinda Thero wrote whether its going to be a victory or a defeat we must fight for peaceful lives.

And when thinking as a warrior they only don't get afraid about the result of their lives, all they need is to accomplish what they need (in this case freedom). Surely S. Mahinda thero must have wrote this as he knows these people are fighting for freedom, and for peaceful living. I feel this poem is best for uphold the motivation of the people who have made quite a lot of sacrifices to free the island from the British government.
